Queen’s Park

KidRated’s Queen’s Park Top Tips:

  • Best for kids & teens: Try your hand at a range of sports: there’s tennis, golf and pétanque
  • Best for parents: Grab some tea at the cafe
  • Top tip: Meet the animals in Pet’s corner

Queen’s Park in North West London is a great place to take the family on a day trip out. The park is full of nature and is perfect for relaxing in the sun whilst the kids play in many of the facilities that can be found in the park.

To start with, the playground is a hit with younger kids. It’s packed with swings, slides, and climbing frames, making it a great place for little ones to burn off some energy. The sandpit area is also a firm favourite, where little ones can dig and build to their heart’s content. And the paddling pool is the perfect place to cool off on a sunny day.

Teens will enjoy the Queen’s Park tennis courts and pitch and putt golf course. These facilities are perfect for a bit of friendly competition and are a fun way to get active together even if you don’t win! Don’t forget to bring your rackets for some sporty fun!

In addition, the petting zoo is a must-visit. Kids will love meeting the friendly goats, chickens, and rabbits. It’s a wonderful opportunity for them to learn about animals up close and enjoy some hands-on experiences.

Plus, the café is a great spot for a break. Serving a range of tasty snacks, drinks, and light meals, it’s the perfect place to relax and refuel while the kids continue to play.

For a leisurely afternoon, take a stroll through the park’s beautiful gardens. The rose garden is particularly stunning, offering a peaceful retreat with lovely scents and vibrant colours. Or chill out by the bandstand.

Small but jam packed with great spots! I’ve always loved Queens Park and there are so many reasons why. Their cafe is always on point and in the summer you’ll find seasonal food or ice cream trucks. The bandstand is a great spot to hang out with friends as it’s so picturesque. It can be a little crowded on really sunny days but you can always find a nice spot on the grass to have a picnic. My favourite bit of the park is the woodland walk. Over the years it’s been landscaped to become even more magical and whether you’re young or old, it’s a really enjoyable walk.
