Blenheim Palace

KidRated’s Blenheim Palace Top Tips:

  • Look out for familiar sights from a range of films, including Spectre, Mission: Impossible and Cinderella!
  • Find out more about Churchill at the Museum and War Rooms
  • Visit the website for upcoming events

When you visit Blenheim Palace, it will take your breath away as you gaze upon the stunning palace and gardens. You can discover the history of the palace by taking part in one of the many fascinating tours on offer, or wander round by yourself. Enjoy the parks and gardens on a sunny day, or delve into many interesting exhibits, including the permanent Churchill exhibition (Blenheim Palace was his birthplace).

There are a wide range of activities to suit families with children of all ages. Families will love ‘The Untold Story’, an interactive visitor experience with touch screens and talking portraits which explores 300 years of stories from the Palace’s past. You can also try your hand at the fun family quiz, which can be collected at the main front door. The kids are bound to enjoy riding the Winston Churchill miniature train from the Palace to The Pleasure Gardens, and once there they can get lost trying to find their way around the giant ‘Marlborough’ hedge maze – the world’s second largest symbolic hedge maze!

Blenheim Palace’s summer 2016 programme of events looks great! There is a range of entertainment running from 23rd July to 1st September, including workshops and pony rides. For an extra special trip, visit on 19th-21st August for the Summer Jousting Tournament, or watch a fun family theatre performance of The Wizard of Oz in the gardens on 22nd or 23rd July.

Booking Advice:

  • Under 5s go FREE
  • Get an Annual Pass for the price of a single day ticket, giving you entry throughout the year and to palace-run events
  • Why not book a Downton Abbey tour, which combines a tour of the palace with a trip to other iconic locations from the series?

Beautiful gardens. Sadly a lot was closed when we were there but the gardens were stunning. Local town of Woodstock was gorgeous
