As the capital prepares itself for its annual fireworks display tonight – roads around the SouthBank and Embankment will be closed from 14:00 today.

So, if you were planning a car journey to the Imax, Slava’s Snow Show or all the various activities down at the SouthBank Centre be warned, you may be caught in traffic jams later.
Still on the subject of the fireworks, don’t forget tonight’s event is now a ticketed affair. Police are under strict instructions to turn away anyone who doesn’t have one. You’re still allowed to look up at the sky for free but we recommend you find a different vantage point.
Oh, and if you are out and about late tonight remember the Tube is free from 23:45 – 04:30.
