The makers of Frozen, Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck, have confirmed every six year old’s worst nightmare, there will not be a Frozen sequel. This news is despite, Idina Menzel, the voice of Elsa, previously suggesting that there might be one in the works.
Lee and Buck claimed that thinking up a story for just a short was hard enough and the pressure to not make a bad sequel was high.
Lee explained in an interview with BuzzFeed that the short itself “Was so daunting until we found the story. Then it was all of the things it usually is and we were thinking of every emotion and moment and feeling. I think that’s all we can do. Until we find our way into what’s next, emotionally, it will feel too big.”
The short in question is called Frozen Fever and is set a few months after the end of the events of the ridiculously successful movie. The story centres around Elsa getting a cold.
Frozen fans will be able to watch the short film before the new Cinderella movie when it comes to cinemas on 27th March. Giving all self-respecting Disney princesses all the more reason to see the highly anticipated live action movie.
