On the day when Londoners are probably not in the best of moods due to the bus strike, survey data has come out detailing the different personality traits of different boroughs and areas of the city. Research from Cambridge University suggests that people are drawn to living in areas with likeminded people.
According to the data, which was collected from a survey of 56,000 London residents for a BBC research project, the most nicest people live in Bromley and Croydon. However suburban dwellers are also more likely to be more socially constrained and conservative. This contrasts with more inner city areas of London like Islington and Kings Cross where you will find inhabitants who are most open to new experiences.
Richmond inhabitants are the most satisfied, but unfortunately, if you live in Hounslow, Hillingdon, Barking and Dagenham, Newham and Harrow, there is a high chance that you might be miserable.
The more green space you live near and the more family orientated the area is, the more agreeable residents will be. Lower housing prices also make people more agreeable, Westminster, at the other extreme reportedly has the least agreeable residents.
Do these results make sense for your area of London? Are Richmond residents really the most smug? Or are you a happy Hounslowite? Let us know! What do you think the area you live in says about you?
