A “killer seagull” is said to be drowning pigeons in Hyde Park’s Serpentine lake and eating their bodies.
The aggressive bird has reportedly been spotted dragging its prey into the lake by the neck and pulling them under water.
The attacks were witnessed by amateur photographer Johanna van de Woestijne, 57, who said she saw the killings take place on two separate days.
Speaking to the Mail Online she said, “It was one of the most violent things I have ever seen – after it happened I felt I had witnessed a murder. Both times he picked them off, dragged them into the lake and drowned them”.
“He is easy to spot as he has a distinctive look. He is fairly squat and looks muscular, like a bodybuilder. It must be the high meat diet he’s living on.”
The bird is believed to target weak pigeons in the midst of flocks in the central London park, before hauling them into its famous lake to drown them.
