Visitors to Blenheim Palace near Oxford, last weekend, were treated to something even more exciting than seeing the very attractive birthplace of Winston Churchill. Sightings of cranes led some visitors to speculate that something interesting was going on. But the arrival of some very flash cars led several members of the general public to believe that James Bond was in the building.
Towards the end of 2014 it was announced that the newest James Bond, which will be called Spectre was about to start filming. But obviously, the film makers are very tight lipped about filming locations.
Jonny Dyer, who was having a walk with mates on Sunday noticed a few more Ferraris, Porshes and Aston Martins around the grounds. He even tweeted a photo of the cars, stating, ‘Lots of expensive cars and film unit gear at Blenheim Palace today. Staff cagey but seems to be new #bond #007.’
Blenheim Palace is not a stranger to film crews, parts of Gulliver’s Travels and Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix were also shot there.
The only question is what is James Bond doing at Blenheim Palace? Though we’ll probably just have to wait until the film comes out in November this year. In the meantime, we’re keeping our eyes peeled for Aston Martins wherever we go!
Have you ever seen a film unit at a tourist attraction? We’d love to hear your stories.
