A must-go for families who love theatre, the Lyric Hammersmith reopened five years ago after a massive renovation project. The West London theatre has always strived to be both socially inclusive and produce exciting and provoking productions and the new build reflects this. It also aimed to change the landscape of Hammersmith and create a space for disadvantaged kids to learn about the arts.
If your kids are interested in theatre and performance, this is a great place to start. Membership is only £10 a year and lasts until you are 25. As members, kids and young adults can attend affordable classes in a variety of disciplines and get cheaper tickets for productions at the theatre. Theatre has worked hard to make sure there is access for all. This even includes weekly dance classes for disabled children. Click here to find out more about disabled access at the theatre including their regular performances for blind and deaf audiences.
There are three places to eat including the Lyric Roof Garden where you will be able to enjoy a summer barbecue. The Lyric Bar & Grill could be great for a post-performance dinner. Kids menu choices include the Fat Sam hot dog inspired by Bugsy Malone.
