KidRated’s Eurostar Top Tips:

  • Best for kids & teens: Travelling under the sea on a train is a true adventure. And there’s wifi!
  • Best for parents: Paris is manageable as a day trip, just organise an itinerary before you go.
  • Top tip: Eating around the Gare du Nord area of Paris is expensive. Try different areas to eat.

Taking the Eurostar to Paris can turn a simple journey into an exciting adventure for kids and teens. Imagine the thrill as you board a train that will whisk you under the English Channel and straight into the heart of Paris in just over two hours!

Traveling with Eurostar is a breeze, especially for families. The quick check-in process, comfortable seating, and the novelty of high-speed rail travel add a sense of adventure to the trip. Kids can marvel at the changing landscapes through the windows. And with free Wi-Fi on board, teens won’t have to miss a beat on their social feeds or online games.

Once in Paris, the city’s world-famous attractions like the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, and Montmartre become easily accessible. The city offers endless explorations that blend education with excitement, from historical monuments to modern street art tours. Above all, Eurostar’s central arrival point at Gare du Nord means you can start your Parisian adventure the moment you step off the train.

Eurostar also makes travelling more sustainable, which is a great way for parents to introduce the concept of eco-friendly travel to their children. Choosing the train over a plane cuts carbon emissions by up to 90%, showing how travel choices impact the environment.

This blend of convenience, speed, and access to cultural treasures makes taking the Eurostar to Paris a fantastic option for families. It’s not just a journey; it’s the beginning of a memorable adventure that will be talked about for years to come. Plus, who can resist the allure of saying they’ve travelled under the sea?

I’m a big traveller and there’s nothing bad I could say about the Eurostar. Everything was very efficient, there was a Pret in the terminal which is always a bonus. Who doesn’t love a journey when the destination is a holiday! It felt really quick and the seats are very comfortable. Bring snacks whether you’re young or old because it always makes a journey better. I suppose if you didn’t like trains or the idea of being in a tunnel under the sea then it might not be the place for you but I had no problems. 10/10 would recommend.

It’s a train! A really fast train! I think there’s a level of excitement that kind of tops off after a bit for kids. The trip idea is exciting and going through the tunnel is neat, but at the end of the day, it is a long train ride. Take snacks (that you will consume or are allowed on the continent). Pay attention when booking, you may buy tickets that face backwards.

St Pancras is a beautifully designed station so do take some time to go to the top floor and breath in the atmosphere! Can get very busy though so leave enough time!
