Canalway Cavalcade is a festival at the canal junction where the Regent’s Canal meets the Grand Union in Little Venice that has taken place annually since 1983. The family festival presents a flotilla of canal boats with stalls offering food, fare and books and there’s even a fairground inland.
Alongside the entertainment, there is plenty of fascinating information on offer about the history of boating and the canal. This includes the Littlest Canal Museum, a museum about boating, on a boat!
The festival is not to be missed for waterway-lovers of all ages. It only happens once a year but any time of year, Little Venice is a quirky place in London to explore and the Canal is a great place to come for a walk on a sunny day.
The website lists over forty different stalls that will be attending the 2017 Canalway Cavalcade. These include many food stalls selling fudge and chutney, jewellery stalls and one selling Peruvian crafts, so don’t forget to bring some spare change.
This looks great! I wish we were in London for it!
