Running for eight miles alongside the south bank between Battersea and Canary Wharf, The Thames Deckway has been designed by artist Anna Hill and architect David Nixon of The River Cycleway Consortium.
A spokesman for the consortium said London needed to “think outside the box” to solve its traffic and pollution problems.
