As the official London royal residence since 1837, Buckingham Palace is one of London’s most famous attractions. Official events and receptions are often held there by the Queen as this popular palace receives around 50,000 visitors a year!
The majority of Buckingham Palace’s original 19th-century interior designs have survived to the present day within its 775 rooms and the palace is lavishly furnished with priceless works of art, furniture, as well as its palace garden (the largest private garden in London!).
The rooms are open to the public each year and visitors can learn about the varying functions of each room, such as the Throne Room where the Queen receives loyal addresses, or the Music Room where she meets her guests. At the end of your visit, you can relax in the West Terrace’s Garden Café, which serves a range of refreshments and hot beverages.
A variety of guided visits are available, from the State Rooms and Garden Highlights Tour to the Audio Tours available in a range of languages. If you like Buckingham Palace, be sure to check out Hampton Court Palace and Windsor Castle as well!
