Bekonscot Model Village

Bekonscot Model Village
9

Bekonscot, Buckinghamshire is home to the oldest model village in the world. It opened in 1929 but still continues to delight kids. There is also a working model railway. Enjoy the 6 model towns, step back in time to the 1930s and let your kids stomp around like giants! There is also a great playground half way through if your kids want to let off some steam.

Bekonscot is a great place to visit if you have a child in a buggy as there is plenty of space to wheel it around and, for kids under 2 entrance is free. Disabled access is also good.

Bekonscot Model Village is open from February to November. It is open daily between 10 and 5.

KidRated’s Top Five Tips for Grown Ups:

  1. Bring extra cash for the ride on railway which cost £1 per person.
  2. There is a newly refurbished cafe and a picnic area if you fancy saving some money and bringing a packed lunch.
  3. Take the train there, Bekonscot has limited parking but Beaconsfield station is only a five minute walk away and trains run regularly from Marylebone.
  4. Use Tesco Day Out Tokens to save on the entry price.
  5. As it is mostly outside, it is probably best to visit on sunny, or at least dry, days.
