Written by Henry Lewis & Jonathan Sayer from the Mischief Theatre Company, the play is relatively self-explanatory. It’s a mixture of love, crooks, and barrels of laughs for everyone. Featuring one enormous diamond, six incompetent thieves and one dopey guard, what could possibly go wrong? The play follows the story of Sam Monaghan, a failed bank robber who spends most of his time getting into trouble and swindling his way through his young life. He meets a girl, however neither of them know about all the crooked things the other gets up to.
It was first opened on the 31st of March 2016, so if you’re looking for something new and modern, this one’s for you. The company behind the show are also responsible for the works of plays such as “The play that goes wrong”, and “Peter Pan goes wrong.”, which are both definitely worth seeing if you enjoyed this. Three members of the cast are also responsible for writing the script, so they couldn’t have much more of an idea of how to play their role.
If you’re looking for a lung-bustingly funny comedy for your teenage son or daughter, then they’re bound to fall in love with this play.
