Hampton Court Ice Rink

KidRated’s Hampton Court Ice Rink Top Tips:

Against the majestic setting of Hampton Court Palace, the Hampton Court ice rink invites visitors to come and skate during the winter months. Ice guides are available for groups and individuals who wish to be escorted onto the ice.

Those aiming to develop their skating skills can also have one-on-one or group lessons, which will have kids skating like a pro in no time! As the sun sets, skaters can glide on glistening ice under the starlight, illuminated by the palace, enhancing the ice rink’s magical feel.

If Hampton Court is a little far for you why not check out the ice rinks at the Natural History Museum or Somerset House? Further afield, most big cities have outside rinks at some point during winter, so keep your eyes peeled.

I try to do this every year and it never disappoints. It’s such a laugh and always get me in that festive spirit. You can get hot chocolate afterwards to warm up and watch all the people falling over. If you can get a big group of friends together then yo can buy 10 tickets and get one free. Really fun activity and it’s so nice to do it outside which you can’t always do year-round.

  • No penguin skating aids available, sadly.
  • The toilets are usually a bit far away so go before putting skates on.
  • Lovely Christmassy feel here and the Palace looks grand when lit up in the evening.
  • Don’t forget to grab a hot chocolate from the rink-side cafe afterwards!

Really disappointed with Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink
I went there last week with my friends with three sets of prepaid tickets I bought online. It was such a big disappointment regarding the management of this company. They cancelled the session that day just 15 minutes prior to that when we had already put our skating shoes on. They could have followed MET office’s advice and cancelled the session two hours earlier instead of making it a last-minute decision.
I was promised a full refund. But today I just got a partial refund. They didn’t refund the handling charges.
So I will be taking this to the Trading Standard if I don’t receive the handling charges in three working days. If any one here gets the same problem, do go to the Trading Standard. That’s not a proper way a business should work.
