Queen’s Park is a great place to take the family on a day trip out. The park is full of nature and is perfect for relaxing in the sun whilst the kids play in many of the facilities that can be found in the park.
Some of the facilities include six all-weather tennis courts (great for a work out), a pitch and putt course, a pétanque pitch, an ornamental garden (great for some quiet reading), a children’s playground with paddling pool (amazing because of the hot summers we’re getting), a small zoo (for those animal-loving families) and a café which provide excellent family lunches. You can also buy ice creams to eat whilst sunbathing on the lovely grass areas but don’t forget the sun cream! Hot and cold beverages are also available for a nice afternoon tea.
There is also a Woodland Walk across the top of the park surrounded by beautiful flowers, trees and other plants as well as an abundance of wildlife that provides for the perfect family stroll no matter what the season.
Plus, why not check out the beautiful Victorian Style Bandstand on the North East side of the park.

Small but jam packed with great spots! I’ve always loved Queens Park and there are so many reasons why. Their cafe is always on point and in the summer you’ll find seasonal food or ice cream trucks. The bandstand is a great spot to hang out with friends as it’s so picturesque. It can be a little crowded on really sunny days but you can always find a nice spot on the grass to have a picnic. My favourite bit of the park is the woodland walk. Over the years it’s been landscaped to become even more magical and whether you’re young or old, it’s a really enjoyable walk.
