BFI IMAX

KidRated’s BFI IMAX Top Tips:

  • Glasses wearers, be prepared to choose between clear and 3D vision or wear contact lenses
  • The BFI IMAX is THE place to watch the big blockbusters
  • Don’t sit at the front – sitting nearer the back will give you a more immersive experience

Boasting a massive screen and incredible surround sound, this is a truly immersive and unforgettable film experience – the BFI IMAX is Britain’s biggest cinema screen.  The screen is 26m by 20m and shows films in 3D, so you will feel like you’re really fighting alongside Batman, Spiderman, or even trying to escape Godzilla’s razor-like teeth.

Other Odeon cinemas have incorporated smaller IMAX screens but if you can get to the original, which is located only a minute away from Waterloo station, it’s definitely worth it.

If you’ve got a film you’re looking forward to, IMAX is the place to see it. Honestly can’t go wrong with this one. Great for teenagers, kids and adults. I’ve seen so many films here with the fam and we always have a good time. Best to sit at the back if you don’t want to be cricking your neck. plus you get the best experience that way. 10/10 would recommend.

  • Remember there is only one screen so you won’t have a choice of films on at the same time.
  • As well as feature films there are films that are under 1 hour which can be a good introduction to the huge screen.
  • Best seats are halfway back and in the middle.
  • It can be loud for younger viewers so don’t sit near the sides.
